Website Description

Just Corsica takes every reasonable precaution to ensure that all details on this website are accurate at the time of writing in 2023. However, on occasion errors do occur but we will do our best to update our website or, if a major change, we will inform you if it directly effects your booking (see Terms & Conditions >). Just Corsica cannot be held accountable for alterations made to the accommodation after the website goes live so please check with our Reservations Team before finalising your booking.

Travel Insurance

We strongly advise that you and all the members of your travelling party are adequately insured with travel and medical cover as soon as you book your holiday. Click here for more details >.

We also strongly recommend that you have a Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) for reduced cost medical treatment in Europe which can be obtained via the Post Office in the UK or online here >

Hotel Facilities

Some advertised hotel facilities might not be available or fully operational in the early or late part of the season, depending on the number of guests at the hotel or weather conditions (e.g. A/C may not be turned on in low season and additional restaurants and swimming pools may not be in use).

Accommodation facilities are subject to change at the management’s discretion. We will endeavour to inform you as soon as possible of any changes that may affect your holiday, prior to your departure if we have been informed in time.

City Tax

When staying in certain regions of Corsica there is a local tourist tax which guests are required to pay on check out of the hotel. The cost of this tax can vary depending on region and accommodation star rating and is calculated on a per person per night basis. Where we have been informed of these taxes we have stated this on the accommodation page however these can be introduced at any time and are subject to change. We will endeavour to inform you should this occur.

Special Requests

If you have a specific request for your holiday, we will do our best to honour this. However, a request is not guaranteed and is subject to availability at the time of arrival.

Hotel Grading & Exclusive Accommodation

All accommodation is graded under the local French system, which differs from that of the UK. Hotels can vary within the same star rating as they do in the UK (please ask our Reservation Team for more details). Where Just Corsica has stated the accommodation is ‘Exclusive’, this means that as far as we are aware, it is not available through any other UK tour operator at the time of the website going live.

Quick Links

To quickly find the accommodation in which you are interested on our website, please refer to the quick link number stated on each accommodation page which isa unique number that you enter into the search box at the top of each web page or can be used by typing: www.justcorsica.co.uk/xx (where xx = quick link ref number).

Swimming Pools

Unless otherwise stated swimming pools are not heated. Hotel swimming pools normally have a lifeguard and may be closed during lunch time and in the evenings and you may be asked to refrain from using the pool during these hours.

Children’s Clubs

It is not uncommon to find that the Children’s Clubs can be predominantly French speaking however you should find that most key staff do speak English. In general, there may be limited activities on a Saturday.

Televisions

Where a property states that it has a TV this will be French programming with limited English channels available for example BBC News or CNN only.

Disability Checklist

We strongly recommend that you complete the ABTA Disability Checklist before making a booking if you have a disability or a medical condition requiring special travel, accommodation or dietary arrangements. The form should also be used to give information regarding specific needs for equipment and/or medication you may have. It can be completed by you or your travel agent. The questions are not meant to be intrusive and the information you provide will be treated confidentially and used only to check that the accommodation, transport and facilities in the destination are right for you. It all helps to ensure you receive a quality service tailored to your particular needs. For more information and to complete a checklist please call our Reservations Team 01202 703500 or email holidays@justcorsica.co.uk

Holiday Documentation

This will be uploaded to your app, please ensure you have downloaded this and updated before you travel. This will include useful information about travelling to Corsica, directions, your Resort Representatives, your accommodation/resort and the local area.

Please check all your documents and your emails from us to ensure that your vouchers, names, dates and times are all correct and if not telephone us immediately on 01202 703505.

Guidebook & Local Information

Provided within our app is a digital guidebook that covers places of interest all over the island, general information about its history, culture, festivals and activities.

Information about travel, accommodation and local information has been compiled to help you find your way around the resort and local area with personal recommendations for restaurants, activities, excursions or worthwhile days out either on foot, by car or by boat. Please take the time to read this for your own benefit.

Sat Navs / GPS

If you own a sat nav which also covers Europe we would recommend taking this on holiday with you (rentals through car hire companies can be costly with limited availability) for ease of exploring of the island. In Corsica there is no postcode system like the UK and as part of your driving directions we will send you the Latitude and Longitude for your chosen accommodation which can be inserted into your sat nav.

Hiring A Car

When collection your carm the principal driver will be asked for a deposit of approximatley €1,000-€2,000 depending on car category and additional optional insurance. This can ONLY be held with an imprint of a major credit card (NOT debit card) locally upon arrival and will be used in case of accidents, damage or to replace fuel.

The DVLA have abolished the paper counterpart for the UK photocard driving licence and all information relating to fines and penalty points will only be available online from the DVLA. Our car hire supplier has confirmed that the photocard driving licence will be sufficient enough to hire a car and no further information will be required from the DVLA.

Health & Safety

Your wellbeing whilst on holiday is of prime importance to us and we will do our best to ensure your holiday is safe and trouble free by working with our accommodation and service providers. It is, however, important to remember that standards abroad are not always the same as those we would expect at home and so we do ask you to take care while you are away. We strongly urge you to follow the safety guidelines detailed in our documentation plus any extra information afforded by individual service providers. Please visit www.gov.uk/travelaware for more advice and information.

Resort Representatives

Our resort staff have been chosen for their wealth of local knowledge, expertise and love of the island. A Just Corsica Rep will make contact with you on your arrival in Corsica by text or telephone. On arrival at the airport, make your way through to the Arrivals Hall and if you have transfers arranged a transfer driver will be there to meet you and will take you to your accommodation. If you have hired a car, please make your way to the car hire desk and the agent will assist you with the collection of your vehicle. Please ensure that you have your paperwork, driving licence and credit card ready.

Your Reps mobile telephone number will be given to you in your pre-departure email, by text on arrival in Corsica and they are contactable at any time during your stay in Corsica. They can assist you with information about your accommodation, resort, local area and can recommend places to visit, boat trips, activities, excursions and restaurants depending on your own requirements and interests. Our Reps are there to help and ensure that you have the best possible holiday but in the unlikely event that something is not to your satisfaction then please inform them as soon as possible and they will do their best to resolve the situation.

Please note that Just Corsica Reps do not visit all of our accommodations but are available on the phone for assistance.

Emergency Number

You will receive our emergency telephone number for your use in resort in case of need. We also detail in the Guides section of your TravelPal App further information including emergency numbers for police, fire, ambulance and road assistance.

Complaints

In the unlikely event of dissatisfaction with an element of your holiday, we would stress to you to let the Just Corsica Rep or accommodation reception know about it so that we can rectify the situation as soon as possible. It is much better to solve any issues during your holiday than to wait until you return home. (Please see Terms & Conditions for complaints procedure.)

Money Exchange & Cashpoints (Caisse)

The currency used in Corsica is euros (€). Banks are generally open 8:30am-12pm and 2pm-4:30pm Tuesday to Saturday. There are cashpoint machines (caisse) available outside some banks, which can be used with your UK cashpoint card and usual pin number with instructions available in English. Please note that the hotels are unlikely to change traveller’s cheques but do accept most major credit cards.

Self Catering Accommodation

Security Deposits - the majority of self catering properties ask for a security deposit on arrival to cover any damages and additional cleaning costs. Payment will either be held on a card, taken in cash or paid by cheque (please see individual accommodation for details).

Supermarkets - most larger supermarkets are open throughout the day, often as late as 9pm in peak season although supermarkets and convenience stores in smaller towns tend to close earlier and also at lunchtime, especially out of season. In addition, an increasing number of petrol stations have small convenience stores attached to them and many towns have regular produce markets. Whilst the range of products available in shops continues to improve, please remember this is the Mediterranean so certain items might not be readily available.

Villas & Apartments - have a minimum of a fridge, hob, sink, storage, crockery and utensils but some will not have kettles, toasters, microwaves or ovens (please ask our Reservations Team for details). We suggest that you take with you some basic items such as a tea towel, dishcloth, salt and pepper, washing-up liquid and possibly a travel kettle.

Cleaning & Linen - changed generally weekly. If you require further cleaning or linen and towels, this can be arranged for an extra charge. Please discuss this and book with our Reservations Team before your holiday if required.
